Who’s Who?

Staff Team

Langdale Pre-School employs three highly experienced full-time members of staff. The pre-school always has a high adult to child ratio to ensure that all children receive the best possible care and education.

At Langdale, every child is allocated a 'key person' who works in partnership with parents/carers to support the child and their family in their early learning journey. We recognise the importance of developing close relationships with families in order to ensure that each child develops to the very best of their ability and develops a lifelong love of learning.

Ciara Sutherland

Hello, I am Ciara, one of the trustees of Langdale Pre-School. I am a secondary school English teacher who has complete admiration for early years teachers who provide children with the skills they need to embark on their school journey. Having known Langdale since my school days (back in the 1980s!), I became a trustee to support this pre-school which, in today’s fast paced world, maintains the close relationships and values that have been unique to this setting since it’s creation in 1975. My three children have attended Langdale and it is my hope that they will be followed by many generations in the future.

Anne Young

Langdale holds a very special place in my heart. Having sent all three of my children there, it was without hesitation that I agreed to be a trustee for the pre-school. Langdale is a unique establishment offering more than just childcare, the staff nurture the children and allow them to grow and become confident and independent little people. I have been astounded with every child of mine who has been through their doors at just how much they have grown over their short time there. The detail I have had the pleasure of reading in each child's unique development journal always makes me smile. All my children and I have always loved looking at the photos on display of the Langdale groups over the years dating way back to the 70s! Something that families for years to come will also take pleasure in.

Nicola Murphy-Saye

Nicola has spent the last 18 years as an Executive within the Family Office and Wealth Management/Investment Banking arena at Fleming Family & Partners and Rothschild. Most recently working alongside a FinTech entrepreneur. Nicola is an ex-pupil of St Vincents, still lives on The Ridgeway and both her children have attended Langdale. Nicola hopes to return some of the love, care and support back to pre-school that enriched both of her children and assist Langdale through the next 40 years!
